I am a 52 year old female.  Two years ago I started feeling somewhat fatigued (who doesn't, I thought hormones). The summer of 2005 I discovered I had a cyst on my ovary.  The Dr. did a CA125 test. It came back elevated. The Dr. said that benign cyst can cause that.  Hysterectomy followed Sept 2005. All benign WHEW! I dodged a bullet.  The following six months I had real inflamed face and general fatigue.  After a routine physical, the Dr. says my blood count is high.  Also my alkaline phostaphase was up. For the next 9 months I see two hematologists and one alternative Dr. No one suspected kidney.  December 2006 I am getting ready for Christmas and do some heavy lifting.  Herniated some disc, couldn't raise my arm and after 2 months of not being able to get rid of some residual swelling and knot on the clavicle, I consent to MRI, which led to CT scan, and Bone scan.  All clear except the bone area around the clavicle.  March 13, have biopsy, March 20, 2007 Diagnosed RCC.

Had the Kidney removed at Duke on the 2nd of April. Started Sutent on the April 27th.  I am round 2 50mg.  I go on June 28th for MRI, CT Scan, Bone Scan.  Hopefully they will be able to surgically remove the bone tumor.  I always get anxious on scan day.  Almost sick.  I have to have a bone treatment too.  I stayed away from the internet until I started on the Sutent. I am a believer in the power of prayer and I didn't want to combat my faith with cold facts. I now find solace in having support from people who know.  I will report scan news.  Blessings and peace to all who are dealing with this relentless disease.
