My wife had her surgery in Jan'07 to remove the left kidney (RCC) and the doctor found and removed that there were a huge cyst (endometriosis) in the left pelvic areas.  The first CT scan also show a small met in her lung so we're fortunate to get on Sutent right away in Feb'07.  After 2 cycles, the met in her lung has shown some reduction so we're really looking forward to see even more progress for next week CT scan (end of cycle 4).   The problem is that we also found several cysts (endometriosis) which aggressively grows back in her ovary and pelvic areas which cause a painful feeling when she has her menstrual period so our doctor strongly recommend the surgery to remove her ovary and those cysts soonest (within next month or 2 weeks off Sutent).  I'm worried about this because she has to be taken off Sutent for at least 1 month or more before continuing with Cycle# 5.  Beside painful left trunk area, she also faces with edema (mainly start from the face then to her left leg & foot …. usually start within the third week while taking Sutent).  Have you heard of any others who have been off-Sutent for over 1 month and come back to use them again?  Would there be any down side or deterioration of effectiveness?  Our oncologist is not certain because there has never been the case like this here.   Anyway, really looking forward to join the group.   Cheers, Petch
